for Boardwalk Bites
We get tons of questions and here's a great place to answer all of them in one place!
'Which events work best with food truck catering?'
ANY! We've done birthday parties, corporate events, small business openings, charity festivals, carnivals, sports games, weddings, and even family get-togethers. Nothing is too small or too big!
'How much lead time is needed to secure a food truck for an event?'
while we need more than 24 hours in advance, we always keep food items and ingredients stocked and sourced just in case we have last-minute opportunities.
A month in advance is preferred as we stack up our calendar but a week is more than enough as well! check out our link here to submit an event inquiry.
'What kind of menu items do food trucks typically serve?'
While we may rotate out holiday fun things like pumpkin spice funnel cakes, or Christmas-themed lemonade and kettle corn, we always carry the same staples.
Here's our menu
'Can food trucks cater to specific dietary needs or custom requests?'
While the funnel cakes are gluten-free, we're not able to use a dairy substitute for other options. We don't use nut-based oils in our fryer but again unfortunately dairy-free ranch or batter is not possible at this time.
'What is the cost structure for hiring a food truck for catering?'
We have an event minimum cost to ensure our food production is covered and we ask for headcount estimates to eliminate the overhead waste from under-consumed foods.
'What are the necessary permits and licenses for having a food truck at my event?'
This depends on the county and the city. When you submit your event inquiry we do ask for these specific details and make sure to handle it well before the event.
'Tips for a seamless experience when working with a food truck caterer?'
Make sure you are aware of what your vision is. Be honest about your expectations. We're able to cook, serve, clean up, and go after these events so that's one less thing to worry about. Keep in mind the weather and guests!
'What are the advantages of food truck catering versus traditional catering options?'
It's mobile, as we're on wheels, which makes setup easy as well as food production.
It's a small menu which means simpler options to keep the hecticness of planning an event way easier! You know what you're getting and you know what to expect.
We only require a small space which means we won't be in the way of the event, celebration, or live activities and entertainment.
